Who We Are
Minerva Technical was founded in 2021 by Ross Daniel.
With over 20 years experience in the marine industry, Ross has worked across some of the most high profile sailing campaigns in the business.
The Minerva team bring a wealth of experience across a number of fields, from the design and build of large technical composite structures, to managing racing campaigns and private yachts. Ross leads a team of experts who have breadth of experience covering all aspects of the marine industry.
Meet The Team
Ross Daniel
founder and Managing Director
Ross has worked in the marine industry all his life and has a wealth of experience across the private, commercial and racing sectors of the yachting industry. Ross has managed some of the biggest projects in the industry, from the design, build and commissioning of new racing yachts, the technical delivery of managing a racing team, to the procurement of luxury yachts and the management of private yachts.
Whilst keeping performance at the forefront, Ross’ experience ensures the project stays on time, and on budget, whilst managing resource and ensuring the whole campaign meets the client or team’s objectives.
Justin McEwen
composite manager
Justin leads our composite division and has extensive experience having worked on some of the most well-known composite projects in the world across the automotive, marine and defence sectors.
In the automotive sector Justin has worked on F1 cars for both RedBull and Mercedes-Petronas, as well as DTM, Le Mans and touring cars, and in the defence sector for Airbus and BAE. In the marine sector, Justin has worked on a number of notable projects, from build, RnD, project management, refits and maintenance, to working directly within the team- across all sectors of the yachting industry- including; America’s Cup, IMOCA, Volvo 65s, Maxi 72s, TP52’s and many large superyachts.
Rory Gillard
Director- Minerva europe
Rory has over 30 years experience working in the marine industry, from offshore sailing to managing private yachts.
Rory has lived and worked in Palma, Mallorca for over 10 years and has an established reputation within the private sector of Palma’s marine industry.
Rory has skipped two circumnavigations and has extensive experience sailing around the Med. His knowledge both on the water as an experienced sailor and on shore managing private yachts and as a yacht broker are a valuable asset to the Minerva Team.
Amanda Owens
Campaign management, events and marketing
Amanda has managed some of the most notable partnerships in the sport of sailing, managing sponsorship rights with HUGO BOSS, Mercedes-Benz, and Nokia to name a few.
An experienced marketing, events and partnerships professional, Amanda has lead the strategy and delivery of global campaigns both on and off the water.
Amanda leads the Minerva team in campaign management, event management and marketing delivery.
